No one takes you seriously

Your scattered and seemingly senseless website leads me to believe you all either have some mental issues or just plain way too much time on your hands. PAPD is an outstanding department and I don’t know anyone who takes you guys seriously. You seem like pestering clowns. The fact these officers have to deal with you people while doing the job they do is amazing. Here is a thought, why don’t you organize a community watch group that looks for criminals and spend less time carrying on about how bad the police are.

  1. Thank you so much for taking the time to submit an article. Despite the fact that you are critical of this site, you still deserve the right to voice your opinion. Additionally, I hope you can appreciate the fact that your article was not edited for content.

That being said, I think you might be confused as to what this site is all about. Palo Alto Free Press is not a police watchdog group. It is a place where people can write articles about whatever they want without censorship. The only thing we ask is that you don’t act like an “a-hole”.

You are correct, however, that my father (Mark Petersen-Perez) has a bias against the PAPD. But, there are LEGITIMATE reasons for his concern about improprieties. He himself was a victim of such an act by the the PAPD. Accused of a crime he did not commit, he suffered wrongdoing at the hands of the Police Department.

So you can imagine that this could leave a bitter taste in your mouth about the entire department. It would be very easy to let this distrust consume oneself and to a certain extent, perhaps it has.

However, he just published an article last week COMMENDING a particular officer and their duties. So, while he may have a high percentage of bias against the department, it is in no way total.

We encourage everyone in the community to write articles about subjects they feel passionate about. This would include articles that are critical, such as yours, or ones expressing commendation.

I hope this clears some things up and I really hope you feel comfortable with writing another article in the future.

  2. Your website takes too long to boot up and your submission links do not work. People would read you but we do not want our time wasted with taking-forever internet links. Either change servers or shut down. Your ‘tags’ paragraph is ridiculous. Learn how to use html.

    1. Thanks for letting us know about the speed issue. We are currently working on a fix for this. You should notice a speed increase today. It actually wasn’t a hosting issue, it was a WordPress database problem.

In regard to the tag cloud comment, are you referring to some tags being larger in size? This is a feature. The more popular the tag, the larger in size it gets.
